The new Middle School construction marches on!
Students who participated in the year long JMS Reading Challenge were treated to a celebration today that included a visit from a local author! Elly Swartz is the author of four contemporary middle grade novels.
Such a great way to celebrate a year of reading!

May 22 - Exciting milestone last week for the new middle school: the topping-out ceremony! Signed by students, staff, and site workers, the last structural steel beam is raised with our flag and a tree planted on top as an offering. Next we’ll see the new building start to be framed!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: if you want to see the difference between computational thinking and coding, just look at the eyes. Eyes up= computational thinking for figuring out. Eyes down= coding to program the drone. Check out these gr.5 parallel programmers.
