Dear Boyden Families,
Today the PAC sponsored an amazing assembly for the students. The acclaimed percussionist, educator, activist and Grooversity maestro Marcus Santos led a performance of Brazilian drumming styles springing from his native Bahia—the original capital of Brazil. Our students were introduced to original drumming compositions based traditional Afro Brazilian rhythms, which Marcos has combined with a world music perspective and a modern approach. Students got to join in the fun with call-and-response chants and funky dance moves, and some even got to get up on stage and help make some music! Grooversity are performing artists with Arts for Learning MA.
