Dear Families,

The Walpole Extended Day Program provides on-site before and after school care for all children enrolled in a Walpole Public Schools Elementary School.

Each program maintains at least a 12:1 student to adult ratio, and provides a variety of structured Activities/Crafts, Recess/PE Play, Presentations, Homework Time, and Clubs at no additional charge.

The Extended Day Staff coordinates to provide all students a variety of options at each point of the day. While we want the children to join us as much as possible, families are able to structure their attendance to meet their individual before and after school needs.

The morning schedule provides time to each breakfast prior to the start of the school day, and the afternoon program provides a snack shortly after the end of the school day.

Program activities and daily projects are planned and implemented by qualified staff members from a variety of education and child development backgrounds.

Registration for the 2021/'22 school year will be early in the summer. All enrolled elementary families will receive an email once the registration form is available. Families who would like to register for the remainder of the 2020/'21 school year should email Devin Clifford at

The Extended Day Parent Handbook can be accessed here.

Extended Day Specifics
  • Each Walpole Elementary School will operate a full Extended Day schedule each day school is in session.
  • Drop off for the morning will be available as early as 7:00am, and pick up from the afternoon program will be by 6:00pm. Extended Day will not operate on the fully remote day for all (mostly Wednesdays).
  • Families are required to register for both days their cohort is in school each week, but can choose a schedule based on morning and afternoon needs.
  • The program fee will be billed monthly at a rate of:
    • Mornings only ($33/week)
    • Afternoons only ($66/week)
    • Mornings and Afternoons ($99/week)
  • Students will be assigned to groups that will not cross over during each part of the program. For example, Group 1 and Group 2 in the afternoon will not be on the play structure together. However, the Extended Day groups may not match the classroom group during the day, and, to accommodate morning/afternoon schedule choice, the morning and afternoon Extended Day groups may also not match each other.
  • Extended Day activities will be modified to create as much normalcy as possible while still following distancing and individual materials guidelines.
  • Health and safety guidelines and protocols congruent with those of the schools will be followed at Extended Day.
  • Drop off and pick up procedures will be modified to only allow students inside the building.
  • Parents dropping off in the morning will be required to complete a daily COVID 19 symptom check with the Site Coordinator.
The Walpole Public Schools Extended Day Program does not discriminate in providing services to children and their families on the basis of race, sexual orientation, religion, cultural heritage, political beliefs, national origin, disability or marital status.
