What's Happening

Dear Families,

It is most important that we communicate with you after yesterday’s school violence in Florida.  This incident has affected all of us in the schools and community deeply.  We are sure many members of our community are asking two important questions: How safe are our Walpole schools? How can we support our students as they learn more details about this most recent incident?

Our goal is to ensure to the best of our ability that all students and staff feel safe and secure while in our care.  Walpole Public Schools has a consistent, collaborative relationship with the Walpole Police Department and related law enforcement agencies regarding proactive preparation for and response to various events.  We meet and conduct regular trainings for multiple scenarios that provide options for response to critical incidents.  In addition, we have enhanced our security measures significantly in the last few years in terms of surveillance and improved communication devices. We have prioritized safety and security in the first goal of our district Strategic Plan.

Please be assured that our teachers, counselors and administrators are available to meet with you and/or your children at any time to discuss concerns you and they may have.
